We often get sexy underwear ads on top of that building at 14th St. and Ninth Ave. It used to be David Beckham's crotch up there, which I'm sure was a big hit in Chelsea.

Signs above the street

I'd taken a shot of this colorful billboard a few weeks ago, from an angle further back on 30th St., only to have my camera and computer screw up the transfer. While not the same, this one worked out OK, too.

This billboard across the street from the building -- it's for Aldo -- caught my eye one early morning as I was waiting for the elevator on my way home. I had to shoot it from afar because the office space in the foreground is vacant and locked (yet they keep the lights on 24/7, annoying the hell out of me).

It actually had been unlocked shortly after the renovation was complete (I discovered one morning when I decided to check the door), but someone realized the mistake and it's been locked the couple of times I've tried it since. I wish they hadn't caught it, because I feel like I could've had a better image if I'd had more freedom in my composition of it. But as it is, I think it's decent enough.
